It all started with ... a trip to Ceara, Brazil, a northeastern state, as a family trip to pray and ask God to open doors anbd make His will obvious. During that trip divine intervention brought Alex and a man named Wagner together. Wagner is a resident in one of the worst slums of Brazil, in the city of Fortaleza. He needed help in reaching out to children who lived in the slums and he had an idea to start a surf school.

When Alex told Wagner that without Jesus and the bible, these kids were not better off, Wagner asked if Alex would teach for him. What happened in the next few days changed our lives forever. Wagner shared his vision but had never accepted Jesus. After a spiritual challenge set forth by Alex, Wagner chose to make his eternal destination secure and follow Jesus.

We commited to support him, his wife, and young son if he dedicated his time entirely to the children and the surf school. Six months later, when Alex went back to visit, the school had over 100 children. The school was based out of the dilapitated community centerlocated next door to Wagner's shack.

Since then, many children have come to know the lord through weekly bible studies.They learn how to surf, do arts and crafts, and take English lessons. Good behavior, regular attendance in Bible class, and good grades are all expected from the kids to be able to participate. God is contunuing to refine is vision as we walk with Him daily, lifting this ministry in prayer.
